Whitney Houston’s tragic death was forecast 2 years ago by an expert who warned Whitney would die within 5 years unless she made immediate drastic life changes. Human Behavior Expert Patrick Wanis PhD was quoted in the National Enquirer pleading to Whitney to stop her erratic behavior and take care of herself physically, mentally and emotionally.

“With Whitney’s addictive personality, along with her poor eating habits, a toxic 15-year marriage to ex-husband Bobby Brown, the 2003 death of her father, stalled career and rocky relationship with teenage daughter Bobbi Kristina, the odds are stacked against her”, Dr. Wanis ominously warned in March 2010.

While the world awaits the exact causes of her death, Dr. Wanis who also works with addicts says “Whitney had a history of crack cocaine and booze binges which damage the liver and cardiovascular system, thus setting her up for a potential heart attack or stroke. Whitney said in 2002 that ‘The biggest devil is me’ and every addict struggles with the demons within – just like Amy Winehouse did. And In the same way that the devil is the personification of evil and the enemy of God and humankind, so too is addiction an enemy of humankind stealing so much talent and destroying so many precious lives.”

Chasing or dating a bad boy almost always turns out bad! So why are women attracted to bad boys? Is it the thrill of the pursuit, the triumph of winning the seemingly unattainable, the female desire to tame the wild man or is it the feeling of security in the midst of a strong, confident and rebellious man?

“The answer lies in the difference in genders” says Los Angeles based Human Behavior & Relationship Expert, Dr. Patrick Wanis. “Ultimately, women are nurturers and fall in love with a man’s potential; they want him to grow and change!”

Dr. Wanis identifies and reveals the primary motivations:

* Men fall in love with a woman the way she is, hoping she won’t change or even age

* Women are instinctively nurturers; women fall in love with a man’s potential and try to change him; women expect a man to evolve, grow and change

* When a woman sees a ‘bad boy,’ she thinks she can turn him into a ‘good boy’ – the desire to tame the wild

* The boy who is unattainable or off limits also offers some women the thrill-seeking trap of ‘forbidden love’ (think Romeo & Juliet)

* The pursuit of the unattainable or challenging man sparks the Dopamine rush and reward system – anticipatory and emotional excitement that releases feel good chemicals in the body

* Confident but rebellious men offer women a false sense of security

* Unresolved emotional and psychological issues can also drive women to pursue bad boys, guarded and emotionally unavailable boys (e..g. low self-esteem, feelings of being unloveable; a woman who fears rejection or intimacy will pursue a man who is not truly available thus offering her an excuse when he flees; a woman who seeks security via control will pursue a man who is dependent on her)

“Making people apologize for anti-gay remarks doesn’t change the way they really feel and can create more harm than good” says Los Angeles based Therapist and Human Behavior Expert, Patrick Wanis PhD.

“Racism, bigotry, bias and prejudice cannot change by a forced apology” says Dr. Wanis. “Forcing people such as Tracy Morgan, Chris Brown, Cee Lo or others to be fake and give fraudulent apologies to save their career and popularity doesn’t change their beliefs and only encourages people to lie about their real feelings” explains Wanis. “Real change can only occur when we ask people who make offensive remarks to explain the truth behind their feelings, to explain their motivations and hatred so that those beliefs can be addressed.”

“Parents make the same mistake and teach their kids to lie about their real feelings when they say things such as ‘Johnny, now apologize to your sister.’ Johnny does, but he is not really sorry! They’re just words he uses. He is angry and resentful that he has to apologize because he doesn’t understand why and he doesn’t feel it. And now he’s taught to lie and to give fake apologies in order to be liked and accepted. The same applies to adults and to public figures: Real change comes from new understanding and new perspectives – not by being forced or intimidated into saying something someone doesn’t truly mean, feel or believe” says Wanis.

“And real apologies come from the heart and not from the desire to gain other people’s approval.”

“Forced political correctness, counterfeit language and bogus apologies only lead to more hatred and violence. When we suppress and repress our hatred and bigotry without exploring its roots, we simply create more resentment, anger, bitterness, hatred and contempt toward the very thing or people we hated in the first place. Hatred and bigotry of any kind, such as anti-Semitism cannot be eradicated by political correctness, it can only be corrected by discussion and not by silence or more lies with forced artificial or convenient apologies” says Dr. Wanis.

“Would you want your partner to say ‘I am sorry and I love you’ if he or she does not mean either one?” asks Dr. Wanis.

Watch: Patrick Wanis PhD on James Ray and the dangers of gurus – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvMyoFLdQQ0

“It’s a timeless formula for brainwashing: convince people that they are lacking something and you are the only one who has the answer’ says Los Angeles based Therapist and Human Behavior Expert, Patrick Wanis PhD.

Self-help guru James Arthur Ray was found guilty of 3 counts of negligent manslaughter after three people died in his Sweat Lodge, during his Spiritual Warrior Retreat in Arizona.

“James Ray rose to fame and fortune because of his charisma, use of psychological persuasion and the spectacular marketing of the book and movie ‘The Secret’ that featured him while also playing into people’s vulnerabilities and desires for instant gratification” says Dr. Wanis.

“James Ray sought out people who were lost, emotionally vulnerable or searching for something and promised them unimaginable rewards – including the experience of transcending death – but tragically, he wasn’t able to deliver on the latter.”

“James Ray also used two other secrets of psychological influence: 1) Authority and; 2) Scarcity. Ray built himself as an authority God-like figure and the participants and followers sought his approval and feared his rejection; Ray convinced them that his knowledge and techniques were secrets” says Dr. Wanis. “And after paying $10,000 for the experience of a lifetime, participants believed they were part of the privileged few to access those secrets and they sought Ray’s approval so many of them stayed in the extremely hot tent even as their bodies were entering alarm mode and shutting down.”

Finally, Wanis asks “Remember 1978, the Jones Town Massacre when a reverend led 909 people including children to their death? James Ray isn’t the first person to brainwash people or lead them to their death and he won’t be the last: James Ray created his reality the way others before him have – ego, greed, narcissism and lust for power and control.”

“Humans have basic needs so it’s not only the weak-minded people get drawn into a cult or get brainwashed” warns Dr. Wanis. “Our emotional needs include significance, attention, a safe, secure environment to mature and develop; an emotional connection to other people; acceptance, a connection to the wider community, and meaning & purpose. And when those needs are not being met, a charismatic man like James Ray appears claiming he is the only one who can help you – he has the secret – but his secret was not spiritual – it was deadly.”

Is an online or social media sexual adventure really cheating?

Depends if you are a man or a woman says Los Angeles based Human Behavior Expert, Therapist Patrick Wanis PhD. “Generally, men view cheating first as a sexual act while women view cheating first as an emotional act.”

US Rep. Anthony Weiner admitted to lying and sending out lewd photos via Twitter and social media but defended himself by saying he “never met any of these women or had physical relationships at any time.”

“But he is wrong – even if Weiner didn’t meet these online women in person, most women view emotional infidelity as worse, not better, than sexual betrayal” says Dr. Wanis, author of “Get Over It – breakups, betrayals and rejection!” “Most men become much more jealous about sexual infidelity than they do about emotional infidelity – they are more threatened by a woman cheating physically than they are by her cheating emotionally.”

“Any act that takes away energy from your relationship & partner and places it and attention on someone else can be deemed as cheating and betrayal” says Wanis. “Weiner’s worst act, though, was lying and engaging in behavior that could ultimately humiliate his wife and demonstrate a deep lack of respect for her – regardless of his personal definitions of cheating or betrayal” concludes Wanis.

“Why do powerful men cheat with powerless women? To compensate for a lack of power in their romantic relationships”, says Los Angeles based Human Behavior Expert, Therapist and author of “Get Over It – breakups, betrayals and rejection!”, Patrick Wanis PhD.

“Power in the boardroom is meaningless to men – their real power comes from their relationship with their woman. Men emasculate themselves by marrying powerful sucessful women then choose to cheat with powerless, submissive women”, says Dr. Wanis. “This is the new phenomenon of men marrying up but cheating down.”

“Rock stars and athletes choose women like food off a buffet, but when a highly successful man is coupled with an equally successful woman and he possibly feels powerless in his personal life, overshadowed or even ignored in his own relationship, he then turns to women whom he can control and lord it over:

Jesse James cheated on famous actress Sandra Bullock with a tattoo model

Arnold Schwarzenegger with his housekeeper

Charlie Sheen used prostitutes

Kobe Bryant cheated with a hotel employee in Colorado

President Bill Clinton with an intern

IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn (married to a famous TV host and heiress) allegedly tried to rape a hotel maid

Robert Moffat Senior VP of IBM cheated with a hedge fund analyst

Christopher Lee, a congressman from New York tried to cheat on his wife by advertising himself on a Craigslist dating ad

“Yes, Power leads to cheating because it can lead to delusions of invincibility, entitlement and the male ego-drive to win, conquer and dominate but, when an externally powerful man cheats with a submissive woman, one whom he can control, he is trying to feel the power and masculinity that he lacks in his relationship with his often very powerful or famous wife. Men unconsciously seek the approval and validation of their wife and without it they look for another woman to compensate.” says Dr. Wanis.

“This, in no way justifies cheating nor does it lay blame on the wife, but the women engaging in the betrayal are giving into the greatest aphrodisiac of all – the power that these men offer” concludes Wanis.

“For men, cheating is almost always about power and power corrupts! Men in power change and believe they are invincible - the rules and the law no longer apply to them , often hypnotized into believing that they won’t get caught”, says Los Angeles based Human Behavior Expert, Therapist and author of “Get Over It – breakups, betrayals and rejection!”, Patrick Wanis PhD.

“Former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tiger Woods, John Edwards, Governor Mark Sanford, Governor Spitzer, Bill Clinton, Bill Murray and now the head of the IMF? There’s a dangerous link between power, infidelity and sex addictions. Men in power can be sensation seekers who love to take risks but they also have greater access and opportunities to cheat than the average man does. Even simple situations of power over another person can lead to cheating as exemplified by Arnold Schwarzenegger who now admits to secretly fathering a child with a household staffer” says Dr. Wanis.

“Powerful men face greater temptation because they have power, control and command over other people. Power leads to cheating because it can lead to delusions of invincibility, entitlement and the male ego-drive to win, conquer and dominate” says Wanis.

“The combination of access, temptation, delusions of invincibility & entitlement and the control over others also creates the ultimate test of morals and values as exemplified by priests who have molested boys in their care. Often, paradoxically, many of the cheaters are overly self-righteous men who end up doing the very things they were preaching against such as Elliot Spitzer.” Dr. Wanis says “Human behavior hasn’t changed in over 100 years – Lord Acton said in 1887, ‘All power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.’”

“And as men in power age, they tend to choose easier victims as way to overcome their waning power, such as the head of the IMF charged with raping a hotel maid. Cheating by men is best summed up by Bill Clinton who said: “I did something for the worst possible reason-just because I could”; Tiger Woods admitted that he, too, was a victim of fame, power and its entitlement. Yes, power still corrupts” concludes Wanis.

“The boos and rejection by the audience at Charlie Sheen’s first live performance will only worsen Sheen’s already fragile mental and emotional state and could push him over the edge” warns warns Los Angeles based therapist and Human Behavior Expert, Patrick Wanis PhD.

“Sheen has never experienced rejection on such a large scale before and Sheen has obsessively and desperately been trying to get the public’s approval, to convince everyone that he is a winner but last night’s blatant disapproval and rejection by the audience could push Sheen to drugs again or his behavior could become even more extreme or even violent; his language is full of references to violence – a reflection of his deeper unresolved anger and rage” says Dr. Wanis.

“We love to associate with strong, confident winners but now the public’s perception has shifted from a winner fighting for what is right against the big Hollywood machine to being a desperate, negative, rambling former drug addict who is still seeking everyone’s approval as exemplified by his attempt on stage to connect to the audience by telling crack stories and asking who has smoked crack. Recall that something similar happened when the crowd turned on Tila Tequila and threw feces at her when she was on stage at a festival. The public generally supported Sheen but he gave them no reason to continue supporting him and in fact, he betrayed them by not being able to deliver entertainment or even one ‘torpedo of truth.’”

Wanis says that Sheen is an actor – an entertainer with a script but without the script he is lost for words and has no experience as a live entertainer. “Sheen falsely and foolishly believed that if all he gave the audience was more of the same (the porn actresses kissing, references to drug use) the audience would be satisfied; the audience expected comedy, fun, truth, inspiration, escape and instead all it got was the sad ‘torpedo of truth’ that Charlie Sheen needs help and is desperately trying to get the public to approve of him, reassure him he is a winner and side with him against Hollywood. ”

“Sheen is also used to simply walking the red carpet and being applauded and having his photo taken, but when you ask people to pay money to see you perform live, they expect you to stand and deliver and Sheen did neither.”

Wanis claims that Sheen’s words “I am tired of pretending like I am not special…I am tired of pretending like I am not bitchin’, a total frickin’ rock star from Mars” have now come back to haunt Sheen. “I revealed that Sheen subconsciously believes he is a loser and was desperately and obsessively trying to convince the public that he is a winner, and unlike real rock stars, Sheen doesn’t have the experience or the necessary mental and emotional grounding to handle the rejection and that could push him over the edge.”

“Sheen also said on a TV interview ‘I am a man of my word.’ Let’s see if he is and if he will actually finish the tour or dropout. However, the best case scenario is that Sheen does drop the tour and instead checks into a clinic for real help – before it is too late” concludes Dr. Wanis.

Abercrombie & Fitch is selling padded bikini tops for girls as young as age 8.

“It’s another example of the sexualization of young girls, of children” says says Los Angeles based Human Behavior Expert and Celebrity Life Coach Patrick Wanis PhD.

“It’s true, girls are maturing at a younger age – puberty beginning around age 8, so why do we want 8 year olds to have the chest size of a 16-18 year old girl? Whose attention are we trying to get?

“Are we sexualizing young girls to get the attention of men or to encourage women to use their daughters to compensate for their own lack of sexual appeal by living vicariously through their daughter? Are mothers becoming pimps? Is this the extreme extension of the beauty-pageant mother who now seeks to make up for what she can never be?

“Abercrombie Kids are marketing to mothers who are now past their sexual prime and are trying to recreate it, relive it or compensate for never having been able to be sexually attractive. They are using their children!

“This is promoting and feeding society’s obsession with young girls. Mothers who dress their daughters in this way, with padded, push-up bikini tops are now becoming de-facto pimps and encouraging men to become pedophiles. They are saying ‘look at my daughter’s breasts – see how sexually magnetic she is.’ And they are doing in the most public and sexual place of all – the beaches and swimming pools.

“The effect it will have on girls is to deeply imbed the message that they must mature faster and that unless they have large breasts there is something wrong with their body and they are not good enough. The message is that you are expected to be a sexual object and magnet and that having and showing off your large breasts is attractive, customary and expected – if you want to fit in, be liked and accepted.

“Parents today are using their children to compete with each other – people used to show off and compete with the Joneses with their cars and now they use their children – think Suri Cruise (Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ daughter) aged 4 dressed in heels!

Maybe the best way to sum up the motivation behind retail chains such as Abercrombie Kids deciding to sell padded, push-up bikini tops to young girls is to say that the fashion industry is responding to the standard being created by young female celebrities – Britney, Christina, Miley and others – underage girls sexually provoking and teasing older men” concludes Dr. Wanis.

Singer Chris Brown has a right to be angry according to one therapist who says Brown is being discriminated against.

“The media continues to hound Chris Brown for assaulting Rihanna while Charlie Sheen still remains the golden boy even though he, too, assaulted a woman” says Los Angeles based therapist and Human Behavior Expert, Patrick Wanis Ph.D.

“Singer Chris Brown is still angry – he allegedly smashed a window at Good Morning America studios following an interview where he was visibly annoyed by the questioning of his past domestic violence. But Chris Brown is also angry because he believes the media lets Charlie Sheen get away with domestic violence – Brown Tweeted, ‘I’m so over people bring this past s**t up!! Yet we praise Charlie sheen and other celebs for [their] bullsh**t.’ Chris Brown is right – where is the tough questioning by the seasoned reporters and journalists? CNN’s Piers Morgan gave Sheen a free pass while interviewing him even though Piers Morgan had vehemently chased and battled Whitney Houston in court over her addictions; so why was Piers Morgan afraid of Sheen?” asks Dr. Wanis.

“Is racism the reason we let Charlie Sheen use the media to sell his message and tour while we condemn Brown for trying to sell his music?” asks Wanis.

“Yes, Brown hasn’t resolved his anger issues which contributed to his act of domestic violence in the first place, but Brown is also justified in his frustration – would Robin Roberts have prodded Charlie Sheen about his assault on Brooke Mueller, the same way she did with Brown – and 2 yrs after the incident? And is the real reason that Mel Gibson couldn’t escape the media’s criticism because we heard his anger and abuse against Oksana or because of Gibson’s racist comments?”
